Brian McCormack

Brian’s background includes extensive experience in the computing and networking hardware and software sectors in sales, marketing, and both product and enterprise strategy. He began his career at IBM has held management roles in global technology companies, Nortel and Alcatel USA, and has been an officer of a number of early to mid-stage technology companies. Through his skill in building highly effective teams as well as trusted relationships with key customers and partners, he has contributed directly to the funding, growth and success of several early stage companies.

He has held senior executive roles at venture-backed technology companies including: Avici Systems – successful IPO 2000; Teem Photonics – Grenoble, FR-based optical system components; DragonWave Inc – successful IPO 2009; Blinq Networks – Acquired in 2017. Currently, Brian is a Mentor at both Georgia Tech VentureLab and Alacrite-France Incubators where he advises entrepreneurs in early stage start-ups. He has been an Instructor of Customer Discovery (Lean-Start up methodology), a member of two NSF-funded Customer Discovery teams and a co-founder of two Ga Tech originated commercialization projects (pre-funding).
